Picture of the Day – Cadaques in the morning

This was shot early morning in the Spanish town of Cadaques near the French border. The picturesque town is one where Dali used to vacation as a boy and then later on returned and painted many non-surreal paintings. This is where we spent our last days on our trek through Spain and can’t recommend it [...]

Photo of the day – Double Take

I was reading about tomorrow’s Polar Bear swim here in the frigid waters of Vancouver and that got me remembering this shot I took the other year in the Mediterranean. I like this shot because of the moment that was captured between this man and oblivious woman. Checking out the other gender in other countries [...]

Get hip to the Hipstamaitic

I just discovered this little camera app that has really been designed to be fun to use. There are quite a few iPhone camera apps that either emulate old film grains/formats and vintage or Lomo looks written already. Most come up short for one reason or another. Photo of the day – X-mas Tree on Lost Lagoon

The best one yet! Photo contest winner!

The number one photo manipulation software in in the world for desktops and they produce a hobbled app that is not worth the price of free. Sure it has the following: crop, rotate, and flip, exposure, saturation and [...]

So I just heard about this amazing site called Blurb.com. I guess they have been around since 2005 and sold 300,000 titles in 2008 alone. Who knew….Well I guess 300,000 people did and now there is 300,001 that think it’s cool. It is a site and software that lets anyone publish a book with little [...]

Winners for the first annual Canada Day photo contest.

When I announced the contest I was not sure how many would actually respond. My blog is not the biggest in the way of traffic after all. I am happy to announce that there were enough to make it an actual contest. There were all kinds and it’s pretty amazing to see what this great [...]

Best Canada Day Shots – Photo Contest

Hey you happy Canadian snappers. On Canada Day 2009 while you are out and about with friends, family or just alone with a bottle of your favorite booze navel gazing about being Canadian. Why not take your camera and shoot what you think it means to be Canadian. It’s totally up to you and it [...]

I discovered this free service today that lets you create badges of your most intersting photos acording to most viewed, most commented and favored. It’s free and when you click through it’s nice to see your photos on black instead of the usual white background that Flickr uses.
